"Faustina", The Film

We are, in association with the Marians of the Immaculate Conception in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in the beginning stages of producing a film on the life of Saint Faustina. This project is under the spiritual direction of Marian Father Seraphim Michalenko, who served as vice-postulator for the cause of St. Faustina in North America.

Father Seraphim Michalenko,
film's Spiritual Director

Why a film?

Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska's life is the embodiment of an urgent and powerful message, a message delivered to her by the Merciful Christ. This message has been ratified by the successor to Saint Peter, Pope John Paul II, who canonized her in the year 2000.

Regarding this urgent message, he said, "right from the beginning of my ministry in St. Peter's See in Rome, I considered this message my special task. Providence has assigned it to me in the present situation of man, the Church and the world."

When the Vicar of Christ on earth speaks in these terms, there can be no doubt that working on behalf of this message is to give our support to the authentic Voice of Christ in the Church.

The Lord told Faustina, "In the Old Covenant I sent prophets wielding thunderbolts to My people. Today I am sending you with My Mercy to the people of the whole world." (Diary entry 1588) He also told her at least seven times that this message is to prepare the world for His final coming.

Faustina's life is full of rich and extraordinary mystical experiences. Portraying these supernatural experiences will attract the modern moviegoer and is essential to the success of this film.

Of greater importance, however, is the tremendous virtue of Faustina's life. Through the development of Faustina's character, we will reveal this virtue. Her great love for God and the startling way in which Our Lord communed with her, have revealed the Image of the Merciful Christ with unmistakable clarity - the Image of Himself He wishes us to know and trust as He prepares the world for His final coming. It is our duty as Catholics and Christians to help spread this message, as He told Faustina, "do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My Mercy."

This film will give to the world, through a beautiful and captivating portrayal of Faustina's life, the understanding that our God is a God of Mercy and Love, and that no one need be afraid to approach Him with their misery, sinfulness, and in fact their very selves. The most tender love God has for all mankind walks across every page of her Diary, and will walk across every frame of this film. Her life and diary reveal with great clarity this loving, merciful God, a revelation ratified by the Holy Father, who stated at Faustina's canonization, "By this act I intend to pass this message on to the new milleneum, to all people, so that they will learn to know ever better the true face of God, and the true face of their brethren." He then added, "May this message spread throughout the world."

Jesus told Faustina, "I desire that My mercy be worshiped, and I am giving mankind the last hope of salvation; that is, recourse to My mercy" (Diary entry #998). This mercy Jesus speaks to Faustina about is so important that He calls it "mankind's last hope for salvation", and yet, how many people know about it? This film will help spread this message to an audience that quite possibly will never see the inside of a house of worship.

We wish to encourage all those who will help us in this work, whether by prayers, service, or financial support, by quoting from Faustina's diary what Our Lord told her regarding Father Sopocko, her spiritual director. Father spent most of his life, at great sacrifice, spreading the message Faustina related to him. Jesus said of him, "Through him it pleased Me to proclaim the worship of My mercy. And through this work of mercy more souls will come close to Me than otherwise would have, even if he had kept giving absolution day and night for the rest of his life, because by so doing, he would have labored only for as long as he lived; whereas, thanks to this work of mercy, he will be laboring till the end of the world." (Diary entry 1256)

To those who help with this film, you too will be laboring till the end of the world as this movie plays throughout the world, and more souls will come closer to the Lord because of our efforts as well.

We need your financial support to produce this film. The Marian Fathers, all those who work and worship at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, and all those involved in the production of this film, will pray for everyone who helps, and their families.

God bless you!

The Holy Shroud and the
Image of Divine Mercy

Jesus told Faustina “My gaze from this Image is like My gaze from the Cross”. (326) One afternoon in Stockbridge, Father Seraphim Michalenko shared with us an astounding revelation. In Father Seraphim's words:

Faustina would come to the artist every so often between January and June of 1934 and every time she came he would have to change the face because she didn’t like it. It was at least 10 times and maybe more. So finally she came one day, and as far as she was concerned, the image was ugly, but Jesus said “leave it in the state its in, it not good but it will do, you don’t have to change it anymore... and thats the one that matches the Shroud.

Father Seraphim Michalenko from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA, vice-postulator for the cause of St. Faustina in North America, and spiritual director for the film, has this to say regarding our goal:

Hear Father speak below paragraph

“I’ve been involved in the production of several videos on Faustina’s life. I have always wanted to see her life portrayed from a very spiritual angle knowing that in her life she had intense spiritual experiences with God, with angels, with saints and that this could serve as a foundation for spreading the message of Divine Mercy which the Lord gave her and gave her the duty of spreading. After seeing several films where spirits were portrayed I figured it was a thing that was possible and whereas some of the stories portrayed in films was ficticious, all those things that happened to Faustina were true.”
